Wireless in NYC subways!

I didn't know about this before, but it sounds like we'll soon have wireless in NYC subways:

After five months of delay, the Metropolitan Transportation Authority on Wednesday closed the bidding process for proposals to build a wireless network in the system's 277 subway stations.

Doesn't mention if it will be free... (we really like free), but it's one of those unexpected things that make you feel good.
