Spotrunner: Adwords for TV

Just saw this on SiliconBeat...

Spotrunner, a start-up that comes out of its closed beta today, is... a unique self-serve, web-based ad-buying system for TV. Think AdWords, but for TV ads.

It looks pretty nifty... Wonder when google will buy it.

Actually Google or Yahoo may buy Spotrunner's largest rival, Cheap-TV-Spots.com because Cheap TV Spots can air nationally, but Spotrunner can't. National airings are required for web-based business with a large demographic (geographically speaking). CheapTVSpots.com produces custom ads so it doesn't have the rights problems of Spotrunner, which has to pay a royalty for temporary use of an old ad.
